About Us

Empowering Huntsville Youth Through Literacy, Mentorship, Impact

The KJimpact Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to transforming communities by investing in youth, uplifting families, and building healthier futures. Founded by former NFL running back and current East Tennessee State University running backs coach Kerryon Johnson, we turn athletic leadership into real community empowerment. Johnson, an Auburn University standout and second-round NFL draft pick who played for the Lions, Eagles, 49ers, and Texans, established the foundation with his family to support youth, seniors, and underserved families through literacy, mentorship, wellness events, and more, rooted in his Huntsville, Alabama hometown.

The KJimpact Foundation exists to create a transformative influence in our communities by enhancing early childhood literacy, mentoring adolescents and young adults, supporting families in need, and advocating for the well-being and development of student-athletes.

We envision communities where every child feels seen, every family feels supported, and every student-athlete is empowered to succeed in life, not just in sports. We strive for a future where opportunity, education, and wellness are within reach for all.

The KJimpact Foundation was born from Kerryon Johnson’s experiences as a student-athlete from Madison Academy in Huntsville, Alabama, and his drive to give back beyond the field. After a standout college career at Auburn—where he rushed for 2,494 yards and 32 touchdowns, earning SEC Offensive Player of the Year—and four NFL seasons (641 rushing yards in 40 games), Johnson transitioned to coaching at UNA and later East Tennessee State, while launching initiatives like youth summits, wellness extravaganzas, charity golf tournaments, coaching symposiums, and scholarship banquets. What started as family-led efforts to address local needs has grown into targeted programs delivering literacy kits, mentorship sessions, family resources, and student-athlete support, creating lasting impact year-round.

Where We Serve

We serve youth and families primarily in Huntsville and surrounding Alabama communities, partnering with schools, UNA athletics, local organizations, and leaders to meet on-the-ground needs. As the foundation expands under Coach Johnson's vision, we're scaling programs to reach more young people nationwide
